The runners up were Jennifer Pazmino from Ecuador (Miss Air 2010), Miss Thailand Watsaaporn Wattajakon (Miss Water 2010), and Miss Puerto Rico Yeidy Bpsquez (Miss Fire 2010).

Describe your childhood when you were growing up from 8 to 13 years old.

Up to age 11, I was shy and an average kid. Then at age 12 I changed and became more confident and self assured. I made new friends and started expressing myself in an assertive manner. At that stage, I was formulating my plans based on my dream to be recognized on the world's stage. I started working out and focused on eating healthy and looking good.

What lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years?

I learnt that life is a continuous never-ending learning experience. We may not realize why some things work and why some don't. In the ultimate analysis, everything is a part of a greater plan and we are here to do our best – while we enjoy every victory and we learn and grow from every loss.

Life is a cosmic game and I am one of its star players. However, when I am required to sit in the stands, I will also enjoy being a spectator while I applaud the players on the field.

What is your attitude toward success and failure?

What is your environmental advocacy?

The conservation of fossil fuels and natural resources like water and forests.

Miss World Alexandria Mills, an 18-year-old from Louisville, Kentucky, was just crowned Miss World in southern China. Her big win was a bit of a surprise after much of the attention during the competition was focused on other contestants, reports NPR. According to Agence France-Presse that Mills, aged 18 years, took the title from former Miss World Kayan Aldorino 24 years.
Alexandria Mills was born in Louisville, Kentucky. Her birthday and date of birth is 1992. Alexandria is a beauty pageant titleholder from the United States who was crowned Miss World 2010 on October 30, 2010 in Sanya, China. Mills is the first woman from her country to win Miss World since Gina Tolleson in 1990 and the 60th Miss World in the history of the pageant.

Prior to participating in Miss World, 18-year-old Mills graduated high school and wanted to become a teacher. A vegetarian, Mills is also a fashion model and is listed with Elite Models agency.

She placed first runner – up during the Miss World Beach Beauty fast track event held on October 19 and second-runner-up in Miss World Top Model held on October 23, becoming the eventual winner of Miss World 2010 on October 30, beating early bookie’s favorite Mariann Birkedal of Norway who finished in the top seven.

Alexandria Mills of the United States won the Miss World crown for 2010 on Saturday, defeating more than 100 other hopefuls at a glittering ceremony in southern China.

The 18-year-old Mills described herself as a positive, spontaneous, open minded and outgoing person on the official Miss World website.
